The first time I found out that my sister in law had chicken pox, I immediately sent her to a relative. Because I'm aware of the effects of the chicken pox in a pregnant woman. Main complication is blindness or retardation. My OB even confirmed it.
I was on my 2nd month of pregnancy. I am excited having a baby again after four years.
But after a week, my sis-in-law returned home. Claiming that shes no longer ill and healed already.
I still kept my distance but since were living in a very small house, sadly I got infected by the chicken pox too.
2 days and nights of high fever, spotting started. I went to my OB for a medicine that I could take to ensure that my baby stays.
But I was late. Spotting continues. My baby was dead already. I lost the child.
On that night i was scheduled for a D and C (Dilation and Curettage) procedure. Its all over. Pregnancy days are over.
July 22, 2011. I am officially no longer pregnant.
Did I cry? Yes!! Lots.
I just think that God may have allowed me to lose the child to protect us all from further pain so that I can move on.
I still think that If I have been more careful, I might still have the baby.
Lesson learned: Don't ever go near a chicken pox infected person if your pregnant and never had one. Save your baby.
And since pregnant women has a lower immune system, the dots started appearing all over my face.Leaving no space.
I guess they're the least of my worries now. Getting rid of these spots.
